Fleming's son hired by district contractor
The son of Capistrano Unified schools chief James Fleming was aided by a district official in landing a job with a contractor who had done more than $7.3 million in work for the district.
Sean Fleming, 23, was hired as a temporary employee in 2003 and again in 2005 by Montano Plumbing Company. Neither Sean Fleming nor Montano Plumbing would say how much he was paid, other than he received the “prevailing wage” for his job title.

Fleming understated pay package
Capistrano Schools Superintendent James Fleming understated his pay package by more than $64,000 in response to inquiries by The Orange County Register, documents and interviews show.
Fleming's pay, perks and benefits in 2004-05 amounted to $348,307 – much more than any other district superintendent or city manager in Orange County.
